I liked both the logos of the Toronto and London zoo, both very simple but effective.
I decided that for the exercise I would be doing a logo for a small Woodland Park / nature reserve rather than an all out zoo. I chose a fox to be the animal I wanted to represent. I looked at some illustrators on Pinterest.
I decided to keep it very simple and child like. I had the idea of using the fox’s eyes to form the double oo. I thought I would just use the fox head and brush. I added colour and liked the effect.
I decided to have the letters in white against a coloured background. I made a green background using oil pastels. I drew handmade letters and added them in Photoshop. I added the fox’s head. I felt it looked a bit static so realigned the letters and tucked the head behind the letters. I added the tail. I tried a background but preferred it without.
