This blog charts my progress on the Visual Communications pathway as a mature student at the OCA. So far I have completed Level 1, Graphic Design, Textiles (spillustratetextile.wordpress.com) and Illustration. I am now on Level2 Illustrationillustration2profileai

  1. Hello It’s great to find an example of someone’s work and experiences from studying Visual Communications at the OCA. I am considering studying the same degree and seeing the quality of your work has really inspired me. If you have any pointers for a newbie they would be very much appreciated.

    • Thanks Hannah, I am really enjoying the course and would be happy to answer any questions. If you haven’t signed up yet my only reservation would be that it is a surprisingly heavy time commitment, so make sure you have enough spare time to devote to it.

  2. Thanks for the advise, arts based courses can be especially time consuming. As to the graphic design course do you need to be an expert with Adobe? I’ve got some experience using illustrator and photoshop but I’m no expert.
